The Occasional Vinyl

As the title suggests, we do get the occasional LP record in stock from time to time.

Currently, we have a copy of a classic Irish folk album from 1976 — Andy Irvine and Paul Brady. One of the early recordings made on Donal Lunny’s Mulligan label, less than a year after the pair left Planxty. They don’t make ’em like this any more. €15- and it’s yours. The CD is about that price!

The another memory I have is of Paul spending a morning trying to get “Arthur McBride and the Sergeant” recorded to his liking. He recorded one nearly perfect take but when we listened back to it, we heard him sing “….Says Arthur we wouldn’t be froud of your clothes”….! Nowadays that could easily be corrected but not in those far off days and he had to do the whole song again! — Andy Irvine
